GENBAND Simply Mobile: Fueling the Next Wave of Mobile Transformation
With more than 35,000 attendees, CTIA Super Mobility Week is easily one of the largest and most important conferences in the industry and I am looking forward to attending next week’s event. Last year at CTIA, GENBAND unveiled our Simply Mobile framework, which delivers a portfolio of cloud, OTT, Small Cell, Wi-Fi Hotspot, security and communications development platform solutions that empower our customers (mobile service providers, MVNOs, wireline operators, MSOs, Over-the-top solution providers, mobile application developers and enterprises) to make it much more easy and simple to deliver breakthrough, money-making real-time communications capabilities.
GENBAND has a rich heritage in the mobile industry and boasts a large customer base of wireless service providers globally. Our media gateways and transcoding solutions are entrenched in the world’s largest wireless networks, and our security gateway solution is used in some of world’s largest femto-cell deployments. Specifically we have the largest single-service provider network of 1.5 million Small Cells and more than 20 other deployments worldwide. We are also continuing to gain significant mobility traction with fring and Kandy, our communications platform as a service (PaaS).
Our mobile strategy has been in the works for years. The strategic acquisition of fring, the launch of our Kandy communications platform and Wireless Access Gateway solution and our partnership with Nokia announced last year, which enables Nokia to offer GENBAND´s evolved Packet Data Gateway (ePDG) as part of its voice evolution solutions, including Voice over Wi-Fi, are the most recent examples.
We feel that our Simply Mobile solutions are helping to fuel the next wave of mobile transformation, which is about providing seamless mobility and a consistent user experience without creating silos of networks, applications and devices. As mobile has become an integral part of all of our digital lives, communication is getting more and more contextual and embedded in the applications we use rather than a standalone function. GENBAND is focused on redefining mobile communications and incorporating disruptive technologies like WebRTC, Hotspot 2.0 and telecom APIs and SDKs into our solutions offerings to make it really simple to communicate and innovate. The marketplace is recognizing GENBAND for the disruptive solutions we are bringing to market. Earlier this year we were named to the 2015 CNBC Disruptor 50.
Mobile solutions already make up a significant percentage of our revenues and we are continually investing in our wireless networking solutions, providing secure integration of small cell and WiFi hotspot networks with wireless core, and enabling secure, seamless roaming of voice and data services across LTE, 3G and 4G networks.
Our Simply Mobile Framework is focused on four key areas:
- Mobile Application & Cloud Platform: The Kandy communications platform leverages the entire suite of GENBAND’s market-leading telecom API technology and security solutions, enabling anyone to embed real-time communications capabilities from the cloud directly into mobile and web apps in minutes.
- Cloud-Based Mobile OTT Solutions: The fring Over the Top (OTT) solution powered by GENBAND fring™ offers mobile service providers fast time-to-market with cloud-based, white label, OTT Mobile applications for consumers, SMBs and enterprises.
- Network Densification and VoWi-Fi Solutions: The Wireless Access Gateway allows service providers to cost-effectively enhance the user experience through improved coverage, faster data speeds and seamless roaming through indoor or outdoor Small Cell and Carrier Wi-Fi deployments. GENBAND’s Wireless Access Gateway also allows service providers to secure new revenue generating carrier Wi-Fi and Voice over Wi-Fi services that offer improvements in user experience.
Mobile Network Virtualization Solutions: GENBAND’s Mobile Network Virtualization solutions provide an end-to-end mobile communications framework that assures virtualization of core network functions, mobile session security, interoperability, management and a consistent user experience for real-time communications across any network, application or device.
Next week, I will be sharing the progress that we have made and continue to make on the mobility front with media, analysts, customers and prospects attending the show. The innovation that we are bringing to market is having an impact on not only our customers but on society in general. We just announced a new customer, Telepsych Alliance, who has selected our Kandy platform to power one of the first real-time communications enabled suicide prevention apps called Mindme. The innovative app makes it possible for individuals at risk of depression and suicide to access self-driven treatment or professional help 24/7.
Mindme leverages Kandy’s industry-leading WebRTC technology by extending the therapist-patient conversation beyond the monthly or weekly in-person visits often limited by healthcare plans, disability or distance.
In addition to discussing our continued momentum in the mobile industry, I will also be highlighting the progress we are making with our fring OTT solutions and the fring Alliance, which we announced earlier this year.
I hope to see many of you in Las Vegas next week. It should be a great show.
